With
the upcoming of computer aided design and manufacturing, Eltink
Scheeps- en Jachtwerf switched to CAD/CAM produced building kits for
it`s hull`s and
superstuctures. Previously this engineering work was subcontracted to
third parties. In 2000 the yard started its own engineering deparment
with experienced and highly skilled engineers. Ever since Eltink
Engineering
produces its own computer aided designed and produced building kits,
often working in close relationship with some of the world`s leading
naval architects. Eltink Engineering consists of a highly skilled and
dynamic team. Its profound knowledge of engineering ensures an
efficient building process and an excellent start for the
construction of a top-quality yacht.
In
addition to our own engineering projects, we also provide engineering
services to other shipyards. Eltink`s engineers have years of
experience with a wide
variety of vessels and projects for varios clients. These projects
include a diversity of ship types, like small yachts, mega yachts,
(both sailing- and motor yachts), workships, cargo and passenger
vessels and coasters.
Our engineering services cover most of
the phases of the engineering stage. This starts with accurate fairing
of the lines plan. Detailed construction drawings are drawn, scale 1:1,
on the faired linesplan. The seams and butts in the shell plating are
determined and the expansions and bending information are generated.
Next all plate and profile parts are coded and nested in plates and
standard profile lengths. This data is converted in cutting code for
CNC cutting and plate- and profile shaping. Together we can supply all
parts ready to be assembled right on your doorstep. Apart from complete
projects, our engineering department provides its clients with support,
regardless of how complicated the project is, or the extent of the help
required.
We
constantly analyse and
try to improve the building process. Our extensive knowledge of
marine engineering and building enables us to meet the expectations. We
work flexibly in accordance with client specifications, so that
generated data can be reused throughout the project..
Our department uses the latest AutoCad. For
marine engineering we use ShipConstructor. For shape definition,
fairing and 3D-modelling we use Fastship and Rhino.
